SENIOR PASTOR- BISHOP ERIC JOHNSON 

    Bishop Johnson is the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Life Worship Center in Fort Myers, Florida since April 2005. The Lord has moved mightily in these 11 years from an initial membership of eight, which included his family of 7, to over 300 members today. 

     He was born on a small farm outside of Reading, Pa, and was an altar boy in the Roman Catholic Church. In March 1977, at the age of 19 while attending college, he was Saved and had a Divine Encounter with Almighty God and has not been the same since. In April 1978, after transferring to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga., he had another Divine Encounter with God and was baptized in the “Holy Ghost with Fire after Bishop Henry L. Porter prayed for him during their Jesus Rally College outreach which featured Bishop Porter and Westcoast.

     Bishop Johnson received his call to Minister in December, 1979. He served faithfully for the next twenty five years, in many capacities, under the leadership of his Father in Lord, Bishop Henry L. Porter and Westcoast. He has done ministry across the United States, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Turks & Caicos, Haiti, and Jamaica. 

   Isaiah 43:19 says, “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

    In June 2010 he was consecrated as Bishop and under Bishop Johnson’s Apostolic leadership an array of ministries have been birthed, such as, The New Life Academy School from VPK to eighth grade, Men on Fire, Women on Fire, Youth on Fire, Encounters, School of Leaders, college ministry, and prayer groups have been launched throughout the city. 

   Bishop E.I. Johnson has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and has been happily married for 28 years to the love of his life and partner in ministry, 1st Lady Rev. Denise Johnson. They have 5 beautiful children together who all serve in the ministry with them.

First Lady Reverend Denise Johnson

First Lady Rev. Denise Johnson was born in Titusville, Florida to Irenia and Charles Walker. She accepted Jesus as her personal savior and was filled with the power of the Holy Ghost at the age of 16 in June of 1977. She graduated from Titusville High School, attended FAMU, and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Florida.

Since the age of 16 she has had a desire to keep the fire burning on the altar of the believer’s heart, to build up the church of God, and to preach The Gospel of Jesus Christ for souls to be saved.

In 1979 she became affiliated with Bishop Henry L. Porter and Westcoast while attending the FAMU Prayer Group in Tallahassee FL. After moving to Sarasota in 1982 she was inspired by Dr. Cynthia Porter to become a teacher at the Westcoast School.

Rev. Denise Johnson was licensed to minister in 1983 and later ordained as an Evangelist by Bishop Henry L Porter. She has traveled ministering across the United States, Nigeria, West Africa, Trinidad, Turks & Caicos’ Islands, and Jamaica. She preaches the Gospel with the anointing and power that breaks the yokes and sets the captives free.

First Lady Rev. Denise Johnson moved to Fort Myers in 2005 with her wonderful husband, Bishop E.I Johnson, to established a dynamic move of God called New Life Worship Center. In 2013 they established the New Life Academy Christian School. New Life Academy started with 9 students and has grown and multiplied to over 100 students. Bishop and First Lady Johnson are the proud parents of five lovely children; Eric II, Zuriel, Jarius, Ivania, and Cinnamon.
